Netflix feature Enola Holmes 2 provides filming work for students

In 2021, The Film Office worked with feature film Enola Holmes 2 over the duration of three months, welcoming the Netflix picture to the borough of Tower Hamlets for some iconic scenes. Millie Bobby Brown is returning as Enola, while Henry Cavill is coming back as Sherlock himself.

The production filmed scenes in Wapping Power Station, an iconic location in East London, using it as a key space for the title from September – November 2021.

The Film Office reached out to local charity Four Corners before the filming to see if any students were available for marshall work to help aid the large-scale filming days. One student Victoria was brought onto the set for five days of paid experience with the crew.

Victoria commented on the set, “It was great to see how a feature film was made. I hadn’t seen something of this scale before. I’ve been booked for another two dates on Wednesday the 17th and Sunday the 28th of November to help the production out and can’t wait.” Four Corners believes in film and photography for all. As a registered charity, their work builds upon almost 50 years of radical, socially-engaged approaches to photography and film.

Emily the Film Officer on the job said, “It’s so warming when large scale features, such as this, open their doors for opportunities for local people in the borough. Not only does it give them some first-hand paid experience, but it benefits the production in a time of need for more help with their growing size in the production crew. Four Corners have always provided hard-working film students who are willing to learn on set.”

The Netflix feature is set to be released September 2022, in the meantime check out a short video from their final day of filming!
