Spiderman Spinning Webs around Tower Hamlets

Directed by Jon Watts, Spiderman: Far From Home shows Peter Parker on a summer holiday with his friends, where Peter finds himself trying to save his friends against a villain known as Mysterio. The film has a superstar cast Tom Holland, Samuel L Jackson, Cobie Smulders, Jake Gyllenhaal  & Zendaya.

The production filmed in multiple locations throughout the borough in 2018, with support from Tower Hamlets Film Office, managed by the Film Office. Locations included (but not limited to) York Hall, Raines Foundation Lower School and the iconic Tower Bridge Wharf.

Film Officer, Olwyn Hinds says “It was a pleasure having Spiderman in Tower Hamlets. The crew were very professional and conscientious when filming on location and took extra steps in ensuring all local residents and businesses were on board. Tower Bridge Wharf supplied the perfect backdrop in which to conclude the film, offering fantastic views of Tower Bridge, The Thames and City Hall. The production kindly provided a donation that will be used to help fund training opportunities for young people living in the borough. This will help encourage and support the next generation of film makers looking to break into the industry.

The new trailer for Spiderman: Far From Home has just been released.

We are looking forward to seeing the movie when it’s released on 5th July 2019
