COVID-19

The Government has outlined the importance of staying at home and away from others (social distancing) in order to protect the NHS and save lives. Key measures include:

Requiring people to stay at home, except for very limited purposes
Closing certain businesses and venues
Stopping all gatherings of more than two people in public

Every person in the UK must comply with these new measures, which came into effect on Monday 23 March 2020.

Commercial filming is not considered essential work and therefore we are not permitting any filming during this period until further notice.

If any questions or queries, please e-mail towerhamlets@filmoffice.co.uk or call 0207 2471244.

Keep Safe

Tower Hamlets Film Office is responsible for managing all filming and photographic permissions in the borough.

Tower Hamlets is the heart of the East End. Rich in history, it presents a vibrant mix of old and new, creating a bustling community unique in culture and character. The borough covers an area of just under eight square miles, and is bounded by the Thames to the South and the boroughs of Newham (east), Hackney (north) and the City of London (west).

It’s one of the most popular filming boroughs in London and offers an array of gems for film makers. From the colourful curry restaurants of Brick Lane, the 18th century houses of spitalfields to the wide expanses of Victoria Park and the century-old Sunday Flower Market at Columbia Road there really is a location for everyone.
